A little Story

Roommates and Friends Forever

Some people call it luck.....

About 3 years ago I was sitting on the floor at CMU's library. I was waiting to go into a room to figure out my classes for the first semester of Central. Next to me sat another girl waiting for the same thing, I was not really in to mood to strike a conversation but in no time I hear a "hello, my name is Meagan". So I introduce myself and say "hi, my name is Liz. It is nice to meet you". We start small talk, talking about where we are from and what we are coming to central for, the normal college talk. Just before we walk in to create our schedules she asks if I am living with anyone in the dorms, and I say "No". Right after the no was out of my mouth she asks, "want to room together" and without even knowing her last name I said "yes".

From then it was phone calls back and forth trying to figure out were to live and what to bring. Meagan was on top of it, I was more enjoying my summer and kind of going with the flow, not really thinking about school yet.

The first day comes faster then a bullet, summer was done and over in a blink of a eye. Move in day quickly awakens and by the end of the day I was all moved in, ready to start my first semester at a university. Before I started putting all my stuff away I looked a Megs area, everything was so neat and clean, totally different then a typical Liz room. It was a nice feeling, but I did quickly realize that I now had to change my ways a bit and start picking up. As my mom calls me " a one woman destruction machine" I say it is a little over kill. Meagan had moved in early because of a camp she did a week or so before, so now it was my turn to unpack. Luckily the closet was not very full, because I very quickly filled that up.

The year went by at a normal pace, we were friends with one of our roommates and then mid year they decided to switch. Our roommates may have changed friendships but we never did, it was always Meg, Me and one of the other roommates.

Second year came and we found a apartment. It was probably the most exciting time for us, we finally had room to move and make food. This year Megs boyfriend and my boyfriend were living together in a apartment about a half a mile away. It was a lot of fun, all of us were very busy and it was hard to get together. This year went by way to fast.

Third year, same apartment, my boyfriend had moved back home and it was about to be the best year yet. We were both crazy busy, running around like crazy people. Meg got a job and I was doing a fashion show. So it was always a fast hello and a even faster goodbye, but yet it was always a good bye and hello with a smile. This third year and last year we will be living together is over in 4 days. Three years of our living together is coming to a quick halt.

Through out our three years I was always asking were my phone is or how to spell something, and meg always had the answer. I like to talk, for those who dont know me, and meg always listened. I had a really hard time in our second year, and she was there to hold me when I cried. These are the friends you hold on to for the rest of your life and never let go.

So.......Some wonder how we managed to live together for three years and also never have a fight. Like I said, some call it luck but I think it was already written in God's book before we even sat down on that library floor.

Never be afraid to take the chance, you never know what may happen.
